Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request under its own policy. Etowah County Court Docket does not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends an email, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server and analytics records may capture technical facts about a visit:
- Device IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when available
- Date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure site use, such as popular pages and exit points. Analytics services may combine that activity into traffic reports. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected technical data may be used for the following operational purposes:
- Sending a search request to the selected provider
- Maintaining site speed and availability
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Understanding which pages visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Etowah County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of personal case information. It publishes directions to official Alabama sources, including the Etowah County Circuit Clerk, local courts, Just One Look, and Alacourt.com. Alabama Code ยง36-12-40, Alabama's Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality, and Rule 33 of the Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration govern official access through the responsible public offices. Visitor information collected here is not assembled into a consumer report.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms control the information entered into their tools, including retention and sharing. Those practices are not controlled by this site. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Etowah County Circuit Clerk, trial courts, Alabama court services, legal resources, or outside search products. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure visits across websites. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be shared with:
- Search providers that receive a visitor's query
- Hosting and analytics services that support site operation
- Advertising networks that place or measure ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for the data handled by this site. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure, so the policy does not promise that an intrusion or loss can never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. Information identified as a minor's personal submission will be removed when the issue is brought to the operator's attention.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with applicable privacy and consumer-protection law. A visitor may ask to inspect personal information held by this site, request a correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing where the law provides that choice.
- Request access to available personal data
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion when legally available
- Opt out of processing where an applicable law provides that right
These visitor-data requests are separate from court-record access. Official Etowah County court records are controlled by Alabama court rules and the clerk or court holding the file.
